HE Interior Minister launches revamped ID services

His Excellency Minister of Interior Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa launched the revamped edition of the Identity Card services on the national portal (Bahrain.bh) on Sunday. The event was also attended by MOI officials.

HE the Interior Minister said the eServices were being introduced to facilitate public services and were a proud achievement. He stressed the importance of increasing the use of technology in various initiatives as well as services provided to citizens in line with new concepts and the latest applications specialised in completing a range of government transactions.

He also said that such directions were considered a positive step which contributed in developing and facilitating the delivery of public services to citizens. They also saved and rationalised the government expenditure while improving efficiency.

On his part, eGovernment Authority Chief Executive Mr Mohammed Ali Al Qaed thanked HE the Interior Minister for his directives to implement the authority’s strategy. He expressed pride in the facilities the authority provided to citizens through the eServices in line with the utilisation of technology and the latest systems. He expressed the authority’s keenness to achieve excellence within the government services and deliver high-quality services efficiently in collaboration with all stakeholders.

The revamped bundle of ID card services, available on the national portal, is featured in a simple, user-friendly design that includes most of the services offered in branches.

The services include ID card renewal, replacement of lost or damaged cards, issuance of ID cards for domestic workers, for children below four years, and for the newborn as well as appointments, bookings and enquiries.

Since the provision of ID cards on Bahrain.bh in February, more than 50,000 transactions have been conducted and more than BD300,000 collected as fees.
