Coast Guard vessels help fix leak in marine excavator

MOI:

Coast Guard Commander Major-General Ala’a Siyadi announced on Tuesday that the Coast Guard vessels assisted and provided the required support to a marine excavator with nine crew members on board after encountering water leakage because of a technical fault in the pumps. He said that no one was injured.

He also said that four vessels were deployed to the scene immediately after the case was reported. The rescue team brought the situation under control with back up from the Royal Bahrain Naval Force. The excavator was moved to a shallow area when the technicians fixed a pump and the leak was partially controlled.

The Coast Guard Commander said that after coordination with the bodies concerned, the initial investigation showed that non-adherence to safety instructions was the cause behind the leakage.
