Traffic honours drivers for following rules

Director-General of Traffic Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa has honoured some drivers for following the traffic rules. The traffic control room had noticed the good driving practices of those honoured through smart cameras.
He said the Thank You initiative launched recently by the department aimed to inform the community that the majority of drivers followed the traffic rules and violators would bear the consequences. He said the smart systems strived to ensure a smooth traffic flow and limit traffic accidents through high monitoring standards.
Those honoured were selected randomly among the drivers who were found to be following the rules, such as the speed limits, not jumping the red signals and the regulations of the Yellow Boxes. He said the honour was an acknowledgement of their positive role in promoting traffic safety.
The Thank You initiative will continue along with the awareness campaigns to reach out to the public to promote the culture of following the law in society.
