Comprehensive traffic plan in place for F1

Director-General of Traffic Col. Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abduwahab Al Khalifa said on Monday that a comprehensive traffic plan for the Bahrain Grand Prix (Formula 1) had been formulated for March 28 to 31. The plan is part of the directives of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to ensure traffic safety on the roads, especially those leading to the F1 venue. He said that all steps had been taken to implement the plan for the safety of everyone.

He affirmed his department’s resolve to work for the success of the event which has put Bahrain on the world sports map.

The Director-General said that traffic patrols had been equipped with the necessary equipment while an office to deal with accidents would be set up at the race site. A team has also been formed to facilitate the entry of cars and buses that arrive in Bahrain for the F1 via King Fahad Causeway.
