Manama Entrepreneurship Week opens

The fifth edition of the Manama Entrepreneurship Week (MEW-2019) has today opened under the patronage of Capital Governor Shaikh Hesham bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa. The Capital Governorate organised the event in strategic partnership with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), lining up 15 workshops conducted by 30 entrepreneurship experts and specialist from all over the world. The Manama Entrepreneurship Week (MEW-2019), which runs until Thursday targets 5000 participants with the aim of honing their skills and competences to launch their own businesses and translate their ideas into tangible reality. Deputy Capital Governor Hassan Abdulla Al-Madani addressed the opening ceremony, stressing the success of the event which reached its fifth edition. He said the Manama Entrepreneurship Week is in tune with the Government†s drive to support young entrepreneurship and enable small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which represent a key pillar that supports the national economy and contributes to spurring growth. He underlined the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to establish a council tasked to develop the small and medium enterprises, strengthen their competitiveness in local, regional and global markets and increase their contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
